Rheumatoid Arthritis Diet

Can diet help to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Some people with Rheumatoid Arthritis claim that dietary changes can relieve their symptoms. Commonly, if you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, you should avoid:
- diary products,
- white flour,
- red meat,
- citrus fruit,
- alcohol,
- vinegar and
- spices.
Other people follow a diet of low in saturated fates, which is said to have an anti-inflammatory effect. Vegetarianism has also been claimed to help.
Some people take fish oil or evening primrose supplements. There is no conclusive evidence that these treatments help, but it is thought they may have a mild anti-inflammatory effect.
Orthodox medical opinion remains sceptical about the effectiveness of any of these regimens. If you are tempted to try, seek guidance first from a dietician or doctor.
