This is a continuation of the list presented as an article a few days ago which I hope you will find useful. I have now completed the list of usages of some common herb garden plants to explain how they have been used both past and present. Some have distinct culinary use, some are purely medicinal and there are some which are considered to be valuable for both. As they are listed in alphabetical order you should be able to quickly find ones that you are interested in, provided of course they are included.

Echinacea is regarded as a to stimulate the immune system assisting in the treatment infections and giving resistance to flu. The flowers -known usually as coneflower are very attractive.

Fennel is another very versatile herb having many uses, both culinary and medicinal. The leaves will flavor stuffings. The seeds used to flavour savory dishes and baked in cakes, can also be added to fruit pies. Fennel extract is used to treat colds and coughs, and is used to make gripe water.

Feverfew is a medicinal plant, many a woman has found that chewing on a raw leaf will relieve migraine, if taken early enough. Traditionally it was used to treat fevers, arthritis, and even menstruation problems but should not be used in pregnancy. The flowers if steeped in hot water will make an insecticide spray for plants and vegetables; but must only be used at dusk when all the bees have gone home.

Garlic is the king of flavouring in Mediterranean cuisine but is widely used in Asian cooking. Australians useit in pasta and pizza. Recent medical research appears to support its use to promote a healthy heart. Aphids hate it so use it as a companion plant to a rose garden.

Juniper is probably best known for being the flavouring for gin. The berries widely used in sauces for game are also used in pates and stuffings.

Lavender oil is used in products for relieving the pain of arthritis and rheumatism. A pillow scented with lavender oil will send you off to sleep, naturally. Lavender flowers kept in your wardrobes will keep clothes smelling fresh and free of moths and silverfish. Its culinary use is in cakes, confectionery and desserts.

Lovage leaves make a tasty addition to soups and casseroles. Traditional medicinal usage was in treating ailments from stomach upsets to gynaecological problems but is not recommended as such any more. Would you like to have a natural deodorant? Make up an infusion and add some to your bath water.

Marjoram is favourite for seasoning meat, vegetable and egg dishes, stuffing and herb breads. It makes a refreshing tea and as an infusion is used by brunettes as a hair rinse.

Oregano can be used in Mediterranean foods such as pizzas, lasagne, pesto and pasta, is excellent in salsa and eggplant dishes.

Thyme is one of the ingredients in the traditional French bouquet garni along with marjoram, parsley, and bay leaf. It also had many traditional medicinal uses especially in the treatment of coughs and colds and also as an antiseptic

Valerian has traditionally been used as a sedative and it is an ingredient in many such medicines. The root can make a calming tea, but needs a spoonful of honey to help it down. The tea may be used to treat insomnia, cramps and stress, but should not be used too often.

Vervain is a medicinal herb used traditionally as a treatment for liver and bladder problems, coughs and colds, and depression. It has anti-bacterial, diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties. and was also used as an aphrodisiac.

Winter Savory greatly enhances bean and lentil dishes, aids digestion of these foods and in the reduction of flatulence. The peppery taste means that it can be used as a substitute for pepper.

Witch hazel leaves, stems, fruit and bark of have many medicinal and cosmetic uses and has been used to treat a wide range of minor wounds, abrasions, sunburn and stings and to stop bleeding. Used extensively in the cosmetic industry where it is used to make cleansers and soaps.

Wormwood was used to flavour the liqueur Absinthe and was used with other herbs to make Vermouth and Pernod but is now regarded as injurious to health. Its best use is as an insect repellent, especially for clothes moths. Grown as a border plant it will stop animals invading your garden.

there are two vaccines out there. one is neurovax and the other is tovaxin. neither is approved or on the market, each is still in trials. they take a persons own blood and makes a vaccine specific to them.. its kinda cool.. Im hoping they work, I have had MS for 2 years now.
